Ex union minister Purandareswari has alleged that AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu was behind her not getting ticket for some constituencies through BJP during the 2014 general elections.
She reiterated that Babu used his influence to stop her from getting a ticket to certain key constituencies during an interview to a television channel.
Finally, when BJP asked her to contest from Rajampet, she said she gave her nod as she had no other option. However, Purandareswari took the opportunity to clear the air regarding rumours that she was keen on joining the TDP. She confirmed that she will be continuing with the BJP.
Speaking of her exit from Congress, she said she only did what she felt was right at the time of bifurcation. But certain people made her out to be a villain and she had to walk out of the party she explained.
When asked if there will be a fight for the CM’s post between Nara and Nandamuri families and if Lokesh is the future CM candidate, Purandareswari said such matters had more to do with the party and not the families.
She also clarified that she was willing to take up any post offered by BJP.
