Playing With People's Lives

If an uneducated person makes a stupid or a wrong statement then it would be put down to his lack of education. But what if an educated person who also happens to be a doctor and the deputy CM of Telangana deliberately gives false information and speaks nonsense?

Rajaiah first stunned the people of the state when he said that there was nothing wrong in staff of government hospitals demanding a bribe of Rs 200 or Rs 300 to do their work. And recently because the director of NIMS refused to candidates with TRS recommendations to key posts in NIMS, he came out with a statement that Telangana workers in NIMS were being harassed.

But the most unforgivable act of Rajaiah was when responding to a query on five swine-flu death cases reported in the city earlier this month; he said that no one in the city had died of swine-flu. And KCR today is backing him by saying that Rajaiah was only reporting the information he got from government hospitals.

Rajaiah is also the ‘Health Minister’ of Telangana and that explains why the government has been unable to tackle the swine-flu menace.

Appointing highly incompetent people like Rajaiah to positions like ‘health Minister’ is nothing but playing with people’s lives.
