The long break taken by power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan from his Praja Porata Yatra taken up in north coastal districts has drawn a lot of criticism from the people as well as his critics.
His detractors said Pawan is a non-serious politician and he does not have the patience and capacity to be among the people for more than a few days. He has so far taken three breaks during his month-long yatra.
The latest break began on June 10 on the pretext of giving holidays for his personal staff for Ramzan festival.
Even though the festival ended on June 16, there was no sign of Pawan coming out. And it was only on Wednesday that his party issued a schedule stating that he would be resuming his Visakhpatnam tour from June 26, Monday, after a short halt in Vijayawada.
However, his party sources are now giving a clarification saying Pawan has taken the long break.
According to them, Pawan has been suffering from some problem in the eye and that was the reason why he sported black goggles early this month. His visit to tribal areas of Visakhapatnam is learnt to have aggravated his problem.
Since he wanted to take a break for Ramzan festival, Pawan consulted the L V Prasad Eye Hospital in Hyderabad and underwent a minor eye operation.
He would be alright in a couple of days and that is why, he rescheduled his Visakhapatnam tour to June 26, sources said.
