It looks like power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has shut the doors on senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Visakhapatnam and Andhra Pradesh HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao for gaining entry into his party.
Ganta was upset with the TDP and was contemplating shifting his loyalties. In fact, he expressed his displeasure over party openly by not attending the cabinet meeting and threatening to boycott chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s tour to Visakhapatnam.
It was only after the mediation done by deputy chief minister N Chinna Rajappa did Ganta gave up his resistance and remained in the TDP. But he is said to be still not happy in the TDP.
There were reports till recently that Ganta might join the Jana Sena Party, as the YSRC was unwilling to take him.
Moreover, Ganta has close relations with megastar Chiranjeevi family and had played a key role in the Praja Rajyam Party in the past. So, reports said he might opt for the Jana Sena.
However, on Sunday, Pawan attacked Ganta sharply at his public meeting. He accused him of grabbing precious lands in Visakhapatnam, including Dolphin’s Nose hills and red sand dunes.
“His Pratyusha Shipping Company has grabbed several government lands,” he alleged.
Pawan said in the last elections, he had supported Ganta Srinivasa Rao assuming that the latter would develop Visakhapatnam.
“But I never expected that he would become a land grabber,” he said.
