Parakala Quits Naidu's Advisor Post

Parakala Quits Naidu's Advisor Post

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s media advisor Parakala Prabhakar has finally called it quits from his post.

Parakala sent his resignation letter to Naidu on Tuesday and asked him to accept the same immediately.

In fact, Parakala met Naidu directly on Monday night and expressed his intention to quit the post, but the latter turned it down saying he needed Parakala’s services.

In his letter, Parakala said he was deeply hurt by the allegations being levelled by the Opposition party leaders over his integrity.

He said he had not been bothered all these days, when some second rung leaders of the YSR Congress party were slinging mud at the chief minister and the TDP for continuing him in the post, though his family member was in the BJP following a different ideology.

“But when the leader of the Opposition himself made a similar allegation stating that I am being continued only to broker the deal between you and the BJP, I realised that my continuance in the post will damage your reputation and nullify your continued fight against the Centre. Therefore, I have decided to quit,” he said.

Parakala said he did not want any shadow of suspicion falling on the chief minister and his “Dharma Porata Deeksha” (fight for justice) against the Centre.

Parakala happens to be the husband of senior BJP leader and Union defence minister Nirmala Sitaraman.

Though it was expected that Naidu might show the door to him as it is always dangerous to have a person with BJP connections in his core team, he did not do and that gave a weapon to the YSRC to attack Naidu and Parakala.
