Owaisi Double Speak Goes Viral!

The way Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeem floor leader in the state assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi changed his tune on Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao within a few months has become a debatable talk among the Muslims of the old city.

A video clip showing Owaisi’s speech in the assembly during the budget session early this year and against during the recent winter session has gone viral in the social media in the old city, exposing the double-speak of the MIM leader.

During the budget session, Owaisi made a sarcastic attack on KCR by narrating a story of a king and a singer.

In the story, a singer comes to the court of a king and sings several melodious tunes. For every song, the king declares expensive gifts: lakhs of rupees in cash, diamonds, gold, silver, lands and bungalows.

After the concert is over, the singer goes home expecting that all the gifts announced by the king would follow him. When nothing of that sort has happened, the singer goes back to the king and asked him about the gifts.

The king said: “Your songs were pleasing to my ears. And my announcements were pleasing to your ears. So, where is the question of giving gifts?”

Comparing KCR with the king, Owaisi said the chief minister was making tall promises to appease the people but they are never implemented.

But during the recent assembly session, Owaisi played the role of the king. He praised KCR in a big way for taking up minority welfare programmes.

“Never before has any political party in undivided Andhra Pradesh been so liberal and never before has any Chief Minister been so benevolent towards minority welfare.

We are indebted to Chandrashekhar Rao saab for his gestures. The Chief Minister’s post is very small when compared to his great heart. He is fit for bigger roles,” he said.
