Oppn parties come together against TRS!

For a change, almost all the opposition parties in Telangana came together on a single platform to attack the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi on the issue of alleged police atrocities on Dalits, OBCs and STs in Rajanna Siricila district.

At the Round Table Conference on "Atrocities and attacks on Dalits" organised by SC Department of TPCC at Somajiguda Press Club, all the party leaders joined hands and decided to wage a united battle against the TRS.

Later, an all-party delegation decided to meet DGP Anurag Sharma on Friday to ask as to why no FIR was issued under SC, ST Atrocities Act when victims of Sircilla incident lodged a complaint before the DSP Sircilla.

The all-party delegation would also call on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan against the anti-Dalit actions of TRS Government.

It was also decided to conduct a photo exhibition on the incident. A demonstration will also be organised at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue to protest against the rising atrocities on Dalits under the rule of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.

Later, the delegation would also meet President of India Ram Nath Kovind on August 21st or 22nd to submit a representation on anti-SC, ST, BC moves of KCR Govt.

The all-party delegation would also give representations to National Human Rights Commission and National Commissions for SCs and STs.

TPCC president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy proposed that all-party Padayatra and public meeting would be held at Sircilla if justice is not done to the victims. He alleged that KCR family was directly responsible for the Sircilla incident.

Stating that the Chief Minister has lost moral grounds to continue on his position, he said the time has come to crush the arrogance of KCR family.

"Telangana is not the Jagir of KCR family. We did not form a separate State to unleash terror on Dalits, Girijans, BCs, minorities or other weaker sections. Unitedly, we must fight to get justice for the victims," he said.

Telangana TDP Working President A. Revanth Reddy alleged that KTR himself was acting like Don of Sand Mafia and therefore, no action is being taken against those responsible for the Nerella incident. TDP leader M. Narasimhulu demanded that the victims be paid a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh and a government job should be given to their family.

Telangana JAC Chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram described the Nerella incident as a blot on the face of entire humanity. He said that the sand mafia was plying terror in all villages of Sircilla district in the shape of their lorries.
