Two days after the sacking of Rajaiah, a Dalit activist, Bakka Judson filed an RTI application seeking the reasons for the dismissal of Rajaiah.
Rajaiah was removed on grounds of corruption and his inept handling of the swine-flu epidemic. However, Rajaiah refutes these allegations. Rajaiah maintained that he had a `clean track record' but still couldn't figure out why he was sacked in the first place, and even ruled out swine flu as a pretext for his ouster.
“The state is still battling swine flu even after my exit, but unfortunately it was cited as one of the reasons for my removal,” he said.
“As a pediatrician, I have 30 years of experience in medical field. I never wanted to create panic as it would have affected the brand image of Hyderabad and tourism potential,” he said.
He, however, said he would continue to be with the party and the CM has promised him another opportunity to serve the people. Interestingly, the RTI petition addressed to the Chief Minister’s Office has been transferred to the ‘Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department’.
One of the alleged theories behind Rajaiah’s removal is believed to be his proximity to Harish Rao. If this is true, then obviously the TRS can’t mention this as the reason behind the ouster of Rajaiah.
