No Official Meetings After 8 PM, Please!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu always claims that he works for 18 hours a day and that he doesn’t sleep and does not let others sleep.

Most of his official meetings go on till late in the night and there were many occasions when the officials cursed him privately for not giving them any rest.

It has been trouble even for media persons who have to wait for long hours to know the outcome of the meetings and report the same.

However, Naidu’s son Lokesh does not have so much patience like his father. Perhaps, he thought he could enjoy his life after becoming the minister. But with such tougher portfolios like Information Technology and Panchayat Raj under his sleeve, Lokesh is finding it difficult to handle the work, because it requires tremendous struggle.

The other day, Lokesh had to attend a review meeting on Panchayat Raj department convened by his father. It went on till 11 pm. Obviously, Lokesh is not used to work for so lengthy hours. Apparently, he realised that it is too tough to be a minister.

So, he called the Chief Minister’s Office staff, senior IAS officers and other ministerial colleagues and told them that it was not correct to hold meetings till late in the night, because it was affecting his father’s health.

He also convinced Naidu to see that the meetings do not extend beyond 8 pm, since doctors have advised him sufficient rest at this age. Naidu had no option but to oblige his son.

For the last few days, all the official meetings are closing by 8 pm, much to the relief of the officials, media and more importantly Lokesh!
