No Need For Drama, AP Won't Get Spl Status

There is no need for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to enact any drama on securing special status to Andhra Pradesh; since the Centre has already made its stand clear in this regard.

This was conveyed in no uncertain terms to Naidu by Congress party’s Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao. In a letter to the Chief Minister, KVP said there was no point in hoodwinking the people on this issue, as the NDA government declared in the House that special status to Andhra Pradesh was not possible.

“We shall continue our fight to get our legitimate right. The issue will come up for debate again on May 13. And the TDP MPs should join the Opposition members in protesting against the Centre’s stand,” he said.

KVP wanted that all the MPs from the State, cutting across the party lines, should fight unitedly in securing the benefits due to the state from the Centre.

“Especially with regard to the special status, the TDP should take initiative and mobilise the support of the BJP, too. Let us not give up the fight till the last moment,” he said.
