The first phase of Metro Rail in Hyderabad is not going to be operational from Ugadi, March 21, as anticipated by the citizens. This was made clear here on Monday by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director NVS Reddy.
He said that the Metro rail could not be run in phases due to some problems. The Metro rail running will start only after completion of the entire project, he said.
It was said earlier that the first phase of Metro rail would run on the Nagole – Mettuguda section from Ugadi day.
Trial run was also conducted on the sections in the recent past, raising great expectations among the people. But, now the Metro rail officials were contending that the Metro rail would become operational only on completion of the total project.
