Hyderabad: Investigations into documents and phone records of Mohammad Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem, who was shot dead by the police two days ago, have revealed that the gangster had received protection and support from TDP leaders.
Highly-placed sources said late on Wednesday night that police investigations have found links between Nayeem and TDP leader and former minister Uma Madhava Reddy. The cops are expected to include her in the probe and name her in the case.
The police have established proof that there were telephone calls from her landline to Nayeem. Many local TDP leaders are also likely to be caught in the police net, sources said.
The ex-TDP minister took Nayeem's help in taking on Naxalites as the militants had killed her husband A Madhava Reddy, the sources said.
