Narasimhan Not Sure Of Extension

Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states E S L Narasimhan, who has been asked to continue in his post till further orders, is not sure that he would get an extension in either state.

In an interview to television channel, Narasimhan said he is of the view that his role as Governor has come to an end.

“I have played the role of a peacemaker between the two Telugu states in the last three years. I could ensure that both the states performed well and cooperated with each other in several areas.

Though I want to do a lot for the Telugu states, I think it is not possible and my role as a mediator between the two states has ended,” he said.

He said he strongly wished that both Telangana and Andhra chief ministers should tour respective states quite often.

“I cannot take care of both the states for long. I may have to go back to Chennai one day or the other,” he said.

The Governor said though he had played his role effectively, he had to receive brickbats from some quarters.

“What pained me most was the allegation that I spent most of my time in running around temples,” he said.

Apparently, Narasimhan’s lobbying to get extension as Governor did not yield much result. He was asked to continue till alternative arrangements are made and so, he has realised that his days are numbered.

May be he will be given some other post depending on the mood of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
