Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao has dedicated the victory of Telangana Rashtra Samithi in GHMC elections to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Friday evening, KTR, who led the TRS campaign in GHMC elections, said that people have voted in favour of TRS without getting carried away with the propaganda of opposition parties.
With the success in GHMC elections, he said that the TRS victory has completed. He said that the TRS would now focus on fulfilling all the promises that it made with the people.
KTR said that the State Government would continue to implement the welfare schemes launched by KCR.
He said development of Hyderabad would be the sole agenda for TRS Government. He said TRS has emerged as an unbeatable political force in the State.
He refused to comment on challenges posed by opposition leaders on TRS winning 100 seats in GHMC elections.
He said that the landslide victory has increased responsibilities of TRS and it would now focus only on development and not politics as no elections are round the corner.
The ruling TRS turned all predictions and expectations of its adversaries topsy-turvy in the GHMC elections by convincingly capturing over 100 divisions and thus established its power and supremacy in one of the biggest corporations of the country.
What is more, by having secured an absolute majority in the 150-Division Corporation, the TRS can thus comfortably occupy the prestigious and coveted Mayor and Deputy Mayor seats on its own.
The MIM party came second by capturing 33 seats, while the TDP-BJP combine had to be content with just four seats. However, the biggest drubbing and humiliating defeat was suffered by the Congress party, which could get just three divisions.
