The YSR Congress party has taken it as a prestigious issue to win the forthcoming by-elections to Nandyal assembly seat to show that the countdown for the fall of the Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh has begun.
It is a very important election for the YSRC, since it would boost the morale of the party cadre and also the leadership, since it endorses the anti-establishment sentiment across the state and creates a pro-YSRC atmosphere.
If the party wins the seat, it can claim that there is a wave against Naidu government among the people, which has dominated even the sentiment arising out of the death of Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
In case the party loses the elections, it can still claim that the Bhuma sentiment has prevailed; and hence, it has no impact on the rest of the state.
For the TDP, it is a do-or-die situation. It has to win the Nandyal seat not only to sustain the Bhuma sentiment, but also to establish that there is no anti-establishment feeling among the people. Otherwise, it is a countdown for the fall of the Naidu government!
