Naidu's Vijayawada Plan Backfires On Him!

Telugu Desam Party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might now be trying give an impression that he had behaved in a democratic manner by not fielding a fourth candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, but everybody knows he had tried all the options to defeat the YSR Congress party candidate in Rajya Sabha elections V Vijaya Sai Reddy.

While purchasing of more number of YSRC MLAs was the main option, in which he could not succeed, Naidu tried another option: to intimidate the remaining YSRC MLAs who are loyal to party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

For that, he tried to use a secret weapon: of conducting RS elections in Vijayawada, so that he would prevent the Opposition MLAs from voting in the elections by either getting them arrested in false cases or kidnapped to see that Vijay Sai Reddy would not get enough numbers for election.

Sources said Naidu got a letter written by his legislature secretary to the Election Commission requesting that the RS elections be held in Vijayawada, since all the MLAs are available in various districts of Andhra Pradesh. However, the EC authorities who smelt rat in Naidu’s plan, rejected the letter saying since the Assembly is in Hyderabad, elections have to be held in Hyderabad itself. So, Naidu had no way but to succumb to EC directions!
