Naidu's Strange Plan To Counter YSRC

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has come out with a new strategy to counter his rival in gaining public support.

Apparently, Naidu has realised that the day-long fast by YSR Congress party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and others in the name of “Vanchana Vyatirekha Deeksha” (Protest against betrayal) held at Visakhapatnam on April 30 has clearly overshadowed his public meeting at Tirupati on the same day.

So, he thought of reversing his plan. Hereafter, wherever Jagan or his party leaders take up a big protest programme, the TDP would hold a bigger meeting at the same place to change the people’s mind.

As part of that Naidu is now planning to hold his second public meeting at Visakhapatnam on May 20 at the same place where YSRC leaders took up the day-long hunger strike.

He would once again explain how the state was betrayed by the Centre, need for special category status, railway zone and implementation of promises made in AP Reorganisation Act.

If the same place is not suitable, Naidu suggested that the meeting could be held on the Ramakrishna beach area or Andhra University engineering college grounds.

“Hereafter, wherever YSRC leaders hold a dharna or any other programme, we would take up the programmes in the same town,” a party leader said.
