Naidu to vacate Hyderabad by June?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to vacate the Secretariat in Hyderabad by all means by coming June, though the Andhra Pradesh has the right to continue its operations from Hyderabad till 2024.

Apparently, Naidu is not feeling comfortable staying in Hyderabad after the bifurcation and he said a number of times that he was feeling like being in a foreign country.

Moreover, he feels it is difficult to oversee the construction of new capital Amaravati, if he operates from Hyderabad. So, it is better to vacate the common capital at the earliest, he feels.

On Saturday, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to make arrangements to shift the entire State Secretariat from Hyderabad to Amaravati by June 2016. He asked all the Heads of Departments (HoDs) to make preparations to this effect.

Naidu said that all the necessary arrangements are being made to construct six lakh square feet of space to first accommodate the Secretariat.
