Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be trying all options to appease Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has turned out be a tough nut to crack for him.
With his personal meetings with Modi and also lobbying through his close pal M Venkaiah Naidu for securing special category status and special package of funds failing to yield any results, Naidu is learnt to have decided to use the good office of spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in securing benefits to the state.
The chief minister invited the Art of Living founder to the concluding ceremony of Krishna Pushkaraalu at Vijayawada on Tuesday evening. Since Naidu is a big show man, Ravi Shankar was immensely pleased with the way the grand fare function of the Pushkaralu. He readily agreed for a morning meeting with Naidu on Wednesday.
Both had closeted for over an hour, wherein the chief minister is understood to have requested his influence to prevail upon Modi to come to the rescue of Andhra Pradesh.
Sri Sri, who has very close relationship with the Prime Minister because of his yoga attachment, agreed to help Naidu to come out the crisis and also help him politically.
