Naidu says bye-bye to Rayapati company!

Naidu says bye-bye to Rayapati company!

It appears to be the end of road for Transstroy India Limited, promoted by Telugu Desam Party MP from Narsaraopet Rayapati Sambasiva Rao.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is learnt to have asked the Irrigation department to serve a notice on the Rayapati’s company under Section 60C of the Engineering Procurement and Construct Contract (EPC) for failing to meet the deadline in completion of the prestigious Polavaram project. As per this section, the contract can be terminated without having to face any legal issues.

Sources said Naidu had asked Rayapati to opt out from the Polavaram project in the wake of serious warning from the Centre.

Once the contract is terminated, the company will walk away with the payment for whatever work it had done so far.

Instead of calling for fresh tenders, Naidu would entrust the task to two different companies to execute the project quickly in a span of one and a half years.

It is now anybody’s guess that the project would be entrusted to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) which has completed several projects like Pattiseema, Handri Neva Sujala Sravanthi, Purushottapatnam and recently Muchumarri lift irrigation in Andhra Pradesh in a short span of time.

The other contractor who would be entrusted with part of the work will be TDP MP C M Ramesh, who is also an expert in executing big projects. That way, Naidu would be helping his close friend, while ensuring that the project would be completed on time.
