It is over three years since combined state of Andhra Pradesh got bifurcated into Telangana and residuary AP. And it is also true that Andhra Pradesh suffered heavily due to bifurcation and that sentiment still lingers on the people of the state.
But, whatever has happened has happened and people of AP have started moving ahead with the reality.
But Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu still appears to be trying to exploit this bifurcation sentiment for his political gains and to cover up his inefficient administration.
Apparently realising that the Opposition parties are planning to exploit the issue of special category status to AP as a major weapon to fight the next elections, Naidu has come out with this plan of raking up the bifurcation sentiment and blame it on the “unscientific division of the state” for the lack of proper development in the last three years.
During the Nava Nirmana Deeksha which concluded on Thursday, Naidu asked the party leaders to brainwash the students and youth about the loss incurred to the state due to bifurcation.
He said the youth and students should be educated about the disenchanted way in which the bifurcation of the state happened.
But the question comes as to why Naidu had supported the Telangana formation in 2009, if he was really disenchanted with the bifurcation.
So, Naidu has to explain this to the people, if he rakes up this issue during elections!
