After the defeat of the YSR Congress party in the Nandyal by-elections with a huge margin has brought the role of political strategist Prashant Kishor in to debate in the social media.
There were rumours in the media circles that YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had expressed strong dissatisfaction over Prashant and his team for giving him wrong feedback on the ground situation in Nandyal.
However, Prashant is learnt to have clarified that the brief given to him was to work out strategies for 2019 elections and not Nandyal and that he had roped in his team in the by-elections only to help Jagan.
Yet, a section of media is trying to find fault with Prashant for misleading Jagan. Some others went to the extent of expressing doubts over the sincerity of Prashant.
“While working for Jagan, there is every possibility that Prashant might have secretly helped the Telugu Desam Party,” a party worker said.
It is a known fact that nobody knows better than TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on how to manage various sections of people during the elections. So, it is no surprise if somebody suspects that he might have managed even Prashant secretly.
After all, Prashant does not have any loyalty to any particular party. Before 2014, he had worked for the BJP, particularly Narendra Modi.
Later, he worked for Nitish Kumar in Bihar to defeat the BJP. Subsequently, he helped the Congress party win Punjab and worked for the Congress-Samajwadi Party combine in Uttar Pradesh.
All that he wants is money and if it comes from Chandrababu Naidu, there is no wonder why he can’t betray Jaganmohan Reddy?
