Naidu Is 'Sarkaari Srimanthudu'!

There is a saying which goes, 'Preachings are meant only for others, but not for preachers to follow'. This suits Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu more than anyone else.

Naidu ‘adopted’ a village akin to our Prince Mahesh Babu in “Srimanthudu” in January this year when he launched a new scheme “Smart Village-Smart Ward” amidst much fanfare.

While adopting Pedalavudu village in Araku mandal in Vizag district, Naidu gave a call to people stating that, “Adopt villages and develop them. Don’t expect funds from government for development. Instead mobilize funds of your own or on your own with your efforts.”

After 10-months of adopting the village, Naidu did nothing for its development. Suddenly, he woke up from the slumber one day and visited the village recently and took up development programmes but not with his funds but with public money.

He immediately directed officials to issue a GO releasing Rs 5 crore to lay roads in the village. The GO was issued within hours.

Now people wonder how can Naidu use public funds for developing his ‘adopted village’ when he himself preached people adopting villages not to ask government for funds.

They say Naidu would have set a good example had he spent his own funds or that of Heritage Foods, under Corporate Social Responsibility.
