Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has virtually hijacked Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan from Telangana to promote his state brand.
On Tuesday, the AP government announced that Amitabh Bachchan had agreed to be the brand ambassador of the State in promoting its health programme.
“He will promote the health scheme to be implemented by the AP government,” AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said.
Interestingly, it was only last week that Amitabh had met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter’s camp office and offered his help to promote the new State of Telangana on the lines of Gujarat. KCR honoured him with Akkineni Nageshwar Rao award.
There were reports that the Chief Minister had asked Amitabh to be the Brand Ambassador of Telangana. And he had also invited the superstar as special quest on the occasion of Bhumi Puja for the Rachakonda Film City.
Apparently to score over KCR, Naidu hurriedly had an agreement with Amitabh to be the brand ambassador for AP.
