Nagender, Mukesh Under Attack

Former minister and Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender faced severe criticism for the party's dismal performance in the city during the recent Assembly elections.

Participating in the review meeting held by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ponnala Lakshmaiah at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday, the Congress leaders accused Nagender, another former minister M Mukesh Goud and former Secunderabad MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav of damaging the party in the city while in power.

They alleged that the Congress workers of Hyderabad were never given any importance by the trio. They said that the cadre felt ignored, discouraged and humiliated by the senior leaders on several occasions.

A few leaders also accused Nagender and Shabbir Ali of showing favouritism in giving nominated post. They alleged that one important post was sold to an individual by taking bribe of nearly Rs 70 lakh.

TPCC Minority Department Chairman Sirajuddin said that a majority of leaders were in favour of removal of Nagender from the post of Greater Hyderabad President.
