Former minister and ex-Rajya Sabha member M V Mysoora Reddy is an old war horse in Andhra Pradesh politics. But like any other politician, he is a weathercock who tries to move in whatever direction the wind blows.
After being in the Congress party for several years, he joined the Telugu Desam Party after the Congress lost power in 2014.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu nominated him to Rajya Sabha, though he lost the assembly elections. But when he could not get the renomination to RS, he quickly shifted his loyalties to YSR Congress party.
During the 2014 elections, he used to made scathing attack on Naidu and also actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan, who extended his support to the TDP-BJP combine then.
He alleged that Pawan had no political knowledge and principles, as he was supporting the same TDP which he had accused of being corrupt in the past.
When the YSRC lost to power in 2014, Mysoora differed with Jagan and came out of the YSRC. He made desperate attempts to come back into the TDP, but could not succeed.
Now, after keeping silent for more than three years, the veteran seems to have set his eyes on Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena, which is getting good response in the people.
At a meeting in Paloncha in Khammam on Thursday, Mysoora changed his tune towards Pawan Kalyan. He said Pawan Kalyan had the capacity to change the political landscape of the state completely in 2019.
“Kapus, who constitute 24 per cent of the vote bank, are looking for an opportunity to grab power. And Pawan Kalyan has provided a platform for them,” he said.
Mysoora also found fault with the YSR Congress party for failing miserably as an opposition party. At the same time, he also found fault with the Bharatiya Janata Party for not granting special category status to AP. The only party which Mysoora spared was TDP.
May be he is keeping his options open to bargain with the TDP, if he does not get entry in Jana Sena!
