Mudragada Agitation Losing Steam?

Mudragada Agitation Losing Steam?

The agitation launched by firebrand Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham seems to be losing steam gradually, as the government has started taking him easy these days.

According to reports from the East and West Godavari districts, there has not been much response from the Kapu workers to Mudragada in the recent past, as the sources of funding for the movement have dried up, thanks to demonetisation.

The people are more worried about coming out of the cash crisis, rather than participating in the agitations and rallies. And it might take at least six months for the situation returning to normal.

That is precisely why even Kapu joint action committees have not been evincing much interest in participating in the proposed rallies of Mudragada. At the same time, the support from YSR Congress party is also not forthcoming.

So, at present Mudragada is confined to releasing press statements and writing open letters to chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

And every time, Naidu deputes his deputy chief minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa to counter Mudragada’s allegations. And there ends the matter. It remains to be seen how and when the Kapu agitation picks up again!
