Mothkupalli Loses Hope On Governor Giri?

It looks like senior Telugu Desam Party leader and politburo member Mothkupally Narsimhulu has lost hopes on getting gubernatorial post of Governor, as was promised by party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Apparently, Naidu’s recommendation of Mothkupally’s name has been thrown into dustbin by the Narendra Modi government.

In fact, he has been keeping silent and not making any controversial political comments of late, only because he has to maintain some dignity if he wants to become a Governor.

Otherwise, Mothkupally is known for his loud-mouth nature and his hard-hitting attack on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.

In fact, it was because of the assurance given by Naidu on the Governor post, the firebrand leader from Nalgonda has not competed for party chief post in Telangana. Otherwise, he would have outsmarted leaders like L Ramana and A Revanth Reddy.

But, now things have come back square for Mothkupally. And with Centre not evincing interest in him for the Governor post, Naidu has apparently asked him to nurture his own Alair or Tungaturthi constituency.

He has now become active in the party activities again by taking up the cause of Yadagirigutta district.

On Monday, Mothkupally announced that he would launch a padyatra on November 27 from Alair demanding that the State government make Yadadri  (Yadagirigutta) as a new district. He said Yadadri should be made a new district instead of merging it to the proposed Siddipet district.

He also called for Yadagirigutta bandh, in protest against the proposed move of TRS government to merge it with Siddipet.

He said in support of the demand to make Yadadri as a separate district, he would launch a day-long hunger strike on December 1.
