Mind Numbing Arrogance

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandra Shekar Rao has entered into an agreement with the Maharashtra government over river water sharing, which he terms historic.

While the pros and cons of the agreement will be known only over a period of time, his absolute lack of regard for democratic procedures once again comes to the fore.

He did not bother to convene an all-party meeting to explain the deal and seek the approval of the opposition parties. Perhaps he feels that there will be no opposition left any longer.

But when it is an agreement with a neighboring state and especially on such a highly important issue such as river water-sharing, it is essential that the CM bring everyone on board and explain the matter in the Assembly.

That he did not bother to do so is either to avoid criticism of any dangerous concessions made in the deal or is yet another proof of his mind-numbing arrogance.
