MIM bats for Seemandhra people

MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday declared that his party would strongly oppose and agitate if the benefits of welfare schemes were denied to Andhra and Rayalaseema people, who were living in Hyderabad for generations, in the name of comprehensive survey.

Speaking in the Assembly during the Question Hour, Akbaruddin reminded that Hyderabad was a cosmopolitan city and people from Andhra, Rayalaseema and other parts of the country were living here for decades.

He said the government should not use the data collected during Comprehensive Household Survey for depriving people of benefits of welfare schemes.

Stressing the need to make public the data of comprehensive survey, Owaisi demanded that the survey information should be made public and tabled in the House.

He alleged that 25 percent of houses were not covered in GHMC area in the survey.

He questioned whether the government would take up resurvey for the left over houses in the city or not.

The MIM floor leader also wanted to know from the government whether the government had any plan to open a website to provide facility to the people to submit their details online for comprehensive survey.

In addition to this, comprehensive survey forms should be made available in e-seva centers in the State, he said.
