Surprising as it might seem, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has become a hot favourite for backward classes in Andhra Pradesh, following his announcement that he would nominate two BCs, including a Yadav, for the Rajya Sabha seats, elections for which will be held in April.
On Tuesday, several representatives of Yadava Yuva Bheri performed “milk bath” to the portrait of KCR in Vijayawada in a thanksgiving gesture to the Telangana chief minister for announcing Rajya Sabha seat to their community member.
Such milk baths, which have become very common in Telangana, have now spread to Andhra as well and surprisingly, it was KCR who has been given such a felicitation.
The Yadava Yuva Bheri leaders said they would continue to perform “ksheerabhisekham” of KCR portrait every day till the Telangana chief ministers announces the name.
Once it is done, the Yadavas of Andhra would perform special prayers at Vijayawada Kanaka Durga temple and then take out a padayatra from Vijayawada to Hyderabad to hand over the prasadam of the Goddess to KCR to express their gratitude, they said.
