Meeting on bifurcation act promises on Feb 23!

Meeting on bifurcation act promises on Feb 23!

Even as the Telugu Desam Party is fretting and fuming against the Centre over injustice done to the state, the NDA government has started throwing the ball into the court of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

On Tuesday, the Centre has written a letter to Andhra Pradesh chief secretary Dinesh Kumar to come to New Delhi along with all the details pertaining to the issues mentioned in AP Reorganisation Act for a meeting on February 23.

The letter from finance ministry also asked all the officials of various departments concerned with railway zone, port, capital and other issues to come to the meeting.

The meeting is expected to discuss in detail what was done so far and what needs to be done further.

“It is expected to give clarity on the financial assistance being given to the state and how much assistance it still requires,” an official said.

It also called the officials of the Telangana government to finalise the division of assets mentioned in Schedule 9 and 10 of the Act between the two states.

“After the meeting, there will be nothing for Naidu to complain. In a way, it will be a political masterstroke from the Centre,” said a BJP leader.
