Linking Religion With Terror

Linking Religion With Terror

The mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Yakub Memon will be hanged soon. Nobody in the country seems to have a problem with this except the great Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM chief.

Terming the demolition of the Babri Masjid as an “original sin“, Owaisi sought to know whether the perpetrators of the demolition of the mosque in Ayodhya, which sparked riots across the country, would be convicted and subsequently awarded capital punishment.

Now normally whenever terrorism is referred to as ‘Islamic terrorism’, the wise men in society condemn such labels and say that terrorism is the handiwork of a few disgruntled elements and the tag of religion should not be attached to it.

But here, we have a scumbag who was responsible for the deaths of 293 Indians being supported by another radical.

How can you link an act of terror of Yakub Menon to the Ayodhya dispute or Babri Masjid demolition?

Does the demolition of the Masjid justify the taking of innocent lives and by that rationale, should Yakub be released as a free man? This is just another miserable attempt by Owaisi to whip up passions along communal lines.

Earlier also, he was demanding an enquiry into the encounter of Viqaruddin and his henchmen. Viqaruddin was not killed because he was a Muslim, but because he was a terrorist. But people like the Owaisi brothers are slowly blurring the distinction.
