Law Is Different For TDP And YSRC Leaders?

Law Is Different For TDP And YSRC Leaders?

Almost a year ago, the Andhra Pradesh police arrested YSR Congress Party MP from Rajampet P V Mithun Reddy and also MLA from Chandragiri Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy for allegedly assaulting an Air India official last November at Renigunta Airport in Chittoor district.

A case had been registered against the MP after he and members of his family manhandled, slapped and assaulted the Air India station manager when the staff refused them boarding passes as the boarding for the New Delhi flight they were supposed to catch has already closed.

The case was filed and arrests were made following a police complaint from the manager. The case is still going on.

Fine. Law has to take its own course. But a similar incident happened a few days ago at Gannavaram airport near Vijayawada.

Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy was caught on camera creating a ruckus at the airport after he missed his flight.

A furious JC allegedly barged into the Air India office and damaged furniture in rage. The airport security tried to pacify him but to no avail.

Reason: JC, who came to Amaravati to attend a foundation-laying ceremony of the administrative core city inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely.

According to the standard operating procedure applicable to all travellers, he was expected to collect the boarding pass at least 45 minutes prior to his flight's departure. But Reddy reportedly reached airport only 15 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure.

The Air India staff informed him about his ticket's default cancellation due to late arrival, at which he lost his cool. He demanded that the flight be delayed and he be allowed to board, but the Air India staff did not entertain him. Hence, his outrage.

Ironically, the AI staff did not lodge any complaint against the TDP MP, because of the intervention of none other than Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu who sent another MP Kesineni Nani to pacify JC.

Finally, Kesineni made an alternative arrangement for Reddy and the MP finally took a Spice Jet flight for his onward destination.

So, that is Naidu’s double standards!
