KVP: You, too, Brutus!

KVP: You, too, Brutus!

Within a couple of days of the Congress high command rewarding him with the nomination to Rajya Sabha for a second consecutive term, senior leader K V P Ramachandra Rao dealt a rude shock to the party by strongly opposing the AP bifurcation bill in Rajya Sabha.

KVP held a big placard that read: “We want united Andhra Pradesh” and stood for several minutes right in front of the podium of Rajya Sabha chairman, when deputy chairman P J Kurien was in the chair.

This happened when the Seemandhra Telangana MPs were storming the podium and one of them even tried to uproot the mike of the Chairman.

KVP’s aggressive posture against the high command’s decision definitely upset Sonia loyalists.

Senior Telangana leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao alleged that KVP had backstabbed the Congress party after being elected to the Rajya Sabha.

He said KVP had remained silent on the State bifurcation till he was elected to Rajya Sabha for the second term and started behaving atrociously after he was elected.

Alleging that KVP was conspiring to obstruct the Telangana Bill in Parliament, VH slammed the former for running into the well of the Upper House in defiance of the Congress party.

He said he had asked Union minister Rajiv Shukla as to how a ticket for Rajya Sabha was given to the ungrateful man.
