KVP Takes Up Fight Against Demonetisation!

KVP Takes Up Fight Against Demonetisation!

After losing the battle in Rajya Sabha with regard to private member bill on special category status, Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader K V P Ramachandra Rao has now taken up the fight against the Narendra Modi government’s decision to demonetise high value currency.

KVP has now moved the National Human Rights Commission stating that the demonetisation amounted to violation of human rights, as it had caused untold hardship to the people.

He said though there was no opposition to any step taken by the Centre on eradication of black money, the manner in which the Centre had gone about it has created a “deep insecurity” and confusion among people.

He said the people of the country were shocked and panic-stricken after the demonetisation on November 8.

He also pointed out that several people had died across the country, while standing in queues at banks and ATMs.

He urged the human rights commission to intervene in the matter and suggest “RBI to provide separate queues for senior citizens, women and physically-handicapped at banks and ATMs.”
