Hyderabad: KVP Ramachandra Rao has introduced a private bill in the Rajya Sabha and written to both Venkayya Naidu and Chandrababu Naidu for supporting the bill.
The bill seeks special status for AP and is likely to come up for voting next week. Clearly, KVP has put both BJP and TDP in a fix with this proposal. There
is no way that BJP MP’s will vote for special status after the Party has categorically denied special status to AP. But if they vote against the Bill, their attempts to create a base for themselves in AP will be seriously hampered.
And what about Venkayya Naidu? Following suit, if he votes against the bill, can he ever show his face to the people of AP again?
The TDP out of political compulsion may vote for the Bill, but this will only lead to a further deterioration in their relationships with the BJP.
And if Naidu walks out of his honeymoon with the BJP, given the allegations of unprecedented corruption in Amaravathi and the cash-for-vote scandal, he might be in for some unpleasant times. Oh KVP! Look what you have done.
