KVP Not To Give Up Fight On Special Status

It looks like Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao is not going to give up his fight on securing special category status to Andhra Pradesh at any cost.

He is bringing pressure on the Congress high command to step up its fight in Rajya Sabha on the issue, instead of taking it non-seriously. For the last couple of days, the Congress has been raising the issue continuously in the Upper House without letting the heat to subside.

On Tuesday, KVP gave a rude shock to the BJP by giving a notice to the Rajya Sabha chairman seeking privilege motion against the ruling party for stalling his private member bill on Friday.

He alleged that the BJP members deliberately prevented the bill from coming up for discussion and voting by going into the well demanding suspension of Aam Admi Party MP who took the video of the proceedings in Lok Sabha and posted them on Facebook.

“Though it was an issue pertaining to Lok Sabha, the BJP members deliberately stalled the RS proceedings thereby affecting my privileges as a Rajya Sabha member from raising the crucial issue,” KVP said in the notice.

One has to see whether the Rajya Sabha chairman would agree for the notice or not.
