KTR Hails Maha Villages' Plea To Join Telangana!

As many as 40 villages in Dharmabad taluk of Nanded district in neighbouring Maharashtra state expressed their desire to get merged with Telangana state.

Reason: the people are fed up with the Maharashtra government for neglecting them for years and they were impressed with the recent pro-farmer measures like Rythu Bandhu being taken up by the Telangana government.

This was highlighted recently when one of the village sarpanches submitted a letter to TRS MLA from Armoor Bajireddy Goverdhan asking the Telangana government to take over their villages.

On Friday, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and state IT minister K T Rama Rao described it as a major achievement for the government.

“It is a unique compliment for the chief minister as he could impress even the people of the neighbouring state,” he said.

He even tweeted that their MLA also supported the demand of the villagers.

“Can there be a better compliment? I wonder,” he said and also attacked an interesting clip from a Hindi television channel which telecast the same.

In their representation to Bajireddy, the village sarpanch Baburao Kadam said the villagers were deprived of even basic amenities such as roads and water.

The facilities currently available in the neighbouring villages in Telangana were much better than in Maharashtra, the sarpanch said.
