Backward Classes Welfare Association national president and MLA R Krishnaiah represents Telugu Desam Party in the Telangana State Assembly, is a peculiar politician.
Though he is in the TDP, he never attends the party meetings and even in the Assembly, he maintains a separate stand.
There were rumours that he might shift loyalities to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, as he religiously attends all the official programmes conducted by the TRS government. But he has never created an impression that he would be defecting to the TRS.
Quite often, he gives surprises by launching a scathing attack on the TRS government. On Saturday, Krishanaiah lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for not taking any steps to prevent growing number of suicides by farmers.
In an open letter to the Chief Minister, Krishnaiah sought to know whether golden Telangana is possible with suicides and encounters.
He reprimanded the government for distorting Limbaiah’s suicide near Tank Bund and attributed such incidents to the negligence of the government.
He demanded that the government call an all-party meeting to sort out the issue. He alleged that KCR’s 10-day China tour failed to fetch any big investments.
The Chief Minister should not forget that the State will not flourish if its farmers cry in tears, he said.
Now, the latest rumour is that Krishnaiah may join hands with the Congress leaders to fight against the TRS government as he feels only the Congress has some future in the Telangana.
