Komatireddy Ready To Fight Nalgonda LS By-Poll

Komatireddy Ready To Fight Nalgonda LS By-Poll

If Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has his way, the by-elections to Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency would be held in the month of November or December.

According to party sources, KCR is planning to make sitting Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy resign from his seat and appoint him as the chairman of Telangana state-level farmers’ coordination committee giving it a cabinet rank. He will immediately inform the same to Election Commission, which is likely to hold the by-elections along with the Gujarat assembly elections.

Even as KCR is yet to make an announcement in this regard, Nalgonda MLA of the Congress party Komatireddy Venkat Reddy declared that he was ready to contest the by-elections to the LS seat, if the high command gives him an opportunity.

“In a way the by-election is welcome,  as the TRS government would start pumping in money for the development of the constituency at least now,” he said.

Making it clear that he was ready to contest the election, Komatireddy exuded confidence that they will strive to ensure the victory of Congress candidate whoever it may be.

“I am ready to contest the bye-election if AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi directs him in this regard”, he announced.

The question is whether the high command will entertain his request for the contest, as he and his brother Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy have raised a banner of revolt against TPCC president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy and even AICC general secretary R C Khuntia.

Both the brothers have been blatantly defying the party orders. So, even if Komatireddy wants to contest the by-poll, he is most unlikely to get the ticket.
