All the student unions of Telangana have decided to come under one umbrella 'All Students JAC' to undertake a massive agitation against the TRS government.
The students demand immediate notification for recruitment in government jobs. There are nearly one lakh vacancies with about ten lakh students aspiring for these various posts.
The government is waiting for the report of the Kamalanathan Committee on division of state level employees between AP and Telangana before issuing the notification. However, the student leaders say that the government in the meanwhile can issue notification for Mandal and Zonal posts.
“The Kamalanathan committee is not a problem to filling up these posts,” said one leader. The report of the committee will only come out in October.
“We fought in the Telangana agitation only for jobs. Now it is strange that our own government is not keen on giving us employment,” laments an angry student.
The unions with the support of Kodandaram have planned a ‘Rath Yatra’ in April followed by a ‘Chalo Assembly’ campaign in May in which 3 lakh unemployed students are expected to participate. These agitations will surely put Kodandaram back in the limelight.
