Police were once present in heavy numbers on the campus of 'Osmania University' during the T-agitation to keep the agitating students in control.
Today, the situation is really ironic. Despite the dream of a separate Telangana having been realized, the Osmania University campus still remains volatile and police are still present.
The reason: Students are up in arms against their very own Telangana government, especially KCR.
It all started with KCR regularizing the contract employees of the University, an act which the students were against.
KCR had promised the students umpteen jobs after the creation of Telangana, but to date, the Telangana Public Services Commission (TPSC) has not issued any notification for even a single job.
The students were hoping that they would be given preference for the vacant jobs in the University, but KCR regularized the contract staff instead.
Realizing that the students are capable of causing trouble on a large scale, KCR is now chalking up a strategy to appease the students.
His son, KTR met student leaders and informed them that a proposal to have 10% reservation for students in jobs would be introduced soon.
Such a policy exists in the State of Uttarakhand. So there we have it! Another promise from KCR &Co!
