KCR's Caste Policy To Cost Him Heavily!

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's policy of wooing various castes for votes in the ensuing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections is going to cost him heavily.

KCR has virtually opened the Pandora’s Box by allotting prime land in Banjara Hills for Tribal Bhavan. The land costs not less than Rs 100 crore as per the market value.

Within a few days, he sanctioned land to Christians in Secunderabad and even sanctioned Rs 10 crore for construction of Christian Bhavan.

Now, there have been demands for allotment of lands for BCs for Phule Bhavan and even Sikhs for construction of Gurudwara.

On Sunday, Veerasaiva Lingayath and Linga Balija community urged the Chief Minister to get the statue of Basaveswara, their ‘God’, installed on the Tank Bund to offer due recognition.

A delegation of the community led by Member of Parliament BB Patil today called on the Chief Minister at Secretariat here and appealed him to construct a separate “Lingayat Bhavan” for their community in Hyderabad.

Keeping in view the large number of Lingayat population in Telangana State the government should be given them priority by addressing their needs and protecting interests, they said.

Patil is said to have touched upon the gesture of the Chief Minister on his promise of building separate buildings for Banjaras, SCs, Kuruma communities in Hyderabad and wanted him to replicate it for their community.
