KCR To Unveil Third Front Plan At Plenary?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to unveil his plan for formation of a third political alternative – Federal Front – during the party’s plenary scheduled to be held on April 27.

According to party sources, KCR has been talking to all like-minded regional party leaders on the necessity of floating a non-Congress and non-BJP front.

However, some parties are in talks with the Congress to fight against the BJP. Irrespective of these hiccups, KCR is planning to go ahead with his plan.

“He wants to first announce formation of a federal front with whatever parties that come forward. Once it gets consolidated, he hopes all the other regional parties would automatically fall in line,” sources said.

As part of the strategy, KCR is planning to invite the heads of several regional parties to attend a meeting in Hyderabad either on the day of TRS plenary or a day before.

It is learnt West Bengal chief minister and Trinamul Congress president Mamata Banerjee, Biju Janata Dal leader and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, DMK working president Stalin, Jharkhand leader Hemanth Soren are likely to attend the meeting.

The TRS chief has constituted committee under the leadership of MP K Keshavs Rao to frame the draft policy for the federal front.

The committee is likely to make the report ready before the plenary and the leaders from other parties would be discussing on this.

In a way, the forthcoming plenary of the TRS would create a platform for KCR to enter national politics.

In all probability, KCR might also announce his heir apparent for the next assembly elections during the plenary, sources said.
