Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is known for his surprising decisions that come as a shock even to his closest persons.
He is said to have given one such shock to his ally Hyderabad MP and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi.
According to sources, KCR is learnt to have decided to launch an Urdu daily shortly to appease Muslims in Hyderabad.
Already, he has a Telugu newspaper Namasthe Telangana, English paper Telangana Today and a Telugu news channel T News. Now, the latest plan is to launch an Urdu daily, which he has registered in the name of “Aadab Hyderabad.”
What has shocked the MIM is that KCR has poached a senior and efficient journalist from Ithemaad Urdu daily, promoted by the Owaisi brothers.
Apparently, the TRS president wants to spread the party across the Old City to end the domination of the MIM. For that, he has to spread the TRS ideology into the people, which is possible through an Urdu daily.
In the recent GHMC elections, the TRS got considerable number of Muslim votes and KCR sensed that if planned propertly, the TRS has a potential to emerge as an alternative to the MIM.
And that is way Owaisi is not happy with KCR. What is more, he has not taken kindly the attempts of the TRS chief to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi on demonetisation issue. He is of the view that if KCR moves closer to Modi, it would be advantage MIM!
