KCR Makes A Powerful Enemy

KCR Makes A Powerful Enemy

KCR’s fiery tirade against Seemandhra people might have got him the CM post, but he has been making the mistake of sidelining or backstabbing his own key people and this is a strategy that will prove to be detrimental to him in future.

Kodandaram is already not on talking terms with KCR.

Now, the latest person to join KCR’s list of detractors is the powerful Brahmin billionaire from Telangana, C L Rajam.

CL Rajam is the owner of two newspapers, ‘Namasthe Telangana’ and ‘Metro India’. While ‘Metro India’ is a recently started newspaper, ‘Namasthe Telangana’ can be termed as the ‘Eenadu’ of Telangana region.

It was the mouthpiece of KCR during the T-agitation and played a prominent role in the success of TRS in the recent elections.

While it was KCR, who initially started ‘Namasthe Telangana’, as it was incurring losses; it was taken over by Rajam who put it on the path to profits over a period of three years. In return for his support, KCR assured Rajam of a Rajya Sabha ticket.

But after winning the elections, KCR realized that he needed to have a paper of his own and pressurized Rajam into handing over the management of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ to him. He also told Rajam that a Rajya Sabha seat might not happen at this point of time.

A thoroughly disappointed Rajam initially agreed to handing over control of Namasthe Telangana to KCR as he did not want to make the CM his enemy. But he has now decided to fight back and went to Delhi where he announced that he is joining the BJP.

One advantage Rajam has is that he is a well –liked in political circles and he has highly-placed friends, cutting across party lines in Seemandhra, Telangana as well as the Centre.

Following Rajam’s decision to join the BJP, it is now doubtful whether he would relinquish control of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ to KCR. This is indeed a serious blow to KCR, for he was hoping that through the paper, he could portray himself in a bright light all across Telangana without any competition and also all the government ads to ‘Namasthe Telangana’ during the course of the next five years would go into his personal kitty.

With the BJP in power at the Center, any attempts of KCR to indulge in personal vendetta against Rajam would in all likelihood backfire. But Rajam is being appreciated by one and all, especially the staff of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ for showing guts in taking on KCR.

Personally, the staff of ‘Namasthe Telangana’ is happy at the outcome for when KTR, the son of KCR was looking after the paper, it seems their salaries were delayed by more than a month. Hectic developments are expected now in the course of the next few days.
