KCR Foisting Cases Against T-Activists!

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday accused the TRS Government of implicating its opponents into false cases.

Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan, the TPCC chief demanded immediate withdrawal of cases registered against activists, farmers and students since Telangana formation.

He said cases were foisted against 17 Telangana activists, including United Telangana Front leaders Vimalakka and her husband Amar.

"They were implicated in false cases in retaliation to the meeting they held on March 23 at Machareddy in Nizamabad to protest against the injustices done to Beedi workers. Though the meeting was totally peaceful, the police registered cases on March 27 under rigorous sections like 120-B (Criminal conspiracy), 144, 148, 386, 109, 149, Sec 25, 26 of Indian Arms Act and Section 2&3 of Explosive Substance Act. The TRS Government is terrorising everyone who is exposing the truth," he alleged.

TPCC vice-president Md Shabbir Ali said although Vimalakka and other leaders openly campaigned against the Congress in last elections, their party never considered them as their rivals.

"Everyone has a freedom of expression in a democracy and we strictly follow it. However, TRS Government is trying to suppress the voice of everyone who is speaking the truth and exposing the failures of government," he said adding that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should not forget that leaders like Vimalakka have played an active role in formation of Telangana State.
