KCR Disappointed, As Modi Says No Appointment!

KCR Disappointed, As Modi Says No Appointment!

It was a humiliation of sorts for Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday, as he could not get the appointment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

KCR sought an appointment with Modi some a couple of days ago to get the approval from several pending issues like amendment to Presidential Order on zonal system in Telangana, increased reservations to STs and Minorities and others. Originally, he was scheduled to be in New Delhi for four days.

In fact, KCR left for New Delhi on Sunday evening only after getting a clear signal from the Prime Minister’s Office that Modi would meet him on Monday afternoon.

The CMO sources themselves said the PMO had sent a message to KCR to be available for meeting with Modi at around 12 noon.

But after going to New Delhi, KCR had to wait for a call from the PMO, but he didn’t get it. When he made enquiries, he was told that the Prime Minister was busy, getting ready for his foreign tour in the evening. As such, the appointment time was not fixed.

A thoroughly disappointed KCR decided to return to Hyderabad after meeting home minister Rajnath Singh and submitting a memorandum seeking approval to the zonal system being introduced in Telangana.

The TRS sources suspect that the Prime Minister had deliberately humiliated KCR by denying appointment since he was not happy with the latter’s efforts to float the third front and his support to Janata Dal (S) in the recent Karnataka elections.
