Jaipal Becomes Active Again!

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who had been in virtual political oblivion since the party’s debacle in the last elections, has suddenly become active these days.

Ever since the by-elections to Warangal Lok Sabha seat were announced, Jaipal is staying put in Hyderabad and has been coming to Gandhi Bhavan regularly to address press conferences.

It was rather surprising for the media as to whether the party had appointed him as spokesman of the party. Nevertheless, it is learnt the high command has asked him to take active role in the State politics and guide the leaders.

On Thursday, Jaipal predicted that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would face Waterloo in Warangal parliamentary by-election like Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced in the recent Bihar Assembly elections.

He lashed out at KCR’s functioning saying that the State would suffer and lose heavily due to its unilateral and despotic decisions. He strongly felt that the ruling party would taste defeat in Warangal as the people were not happy with him.

Meanwhile, the TPCC was planning to invite national party leaders to participate in the electioneering in Warangal. AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, Lok Sabha former Speaker Meera Kumar and others would participate in the election campaigning in Bhoopalapally Assembly constituency on November 15.

Former Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde would address an election meeting in Wardhannapet constituency on November 16, former Union minister Sachin Pilot would participate in election campaigning in the Station Ghanpur segment on November 17.
